English Department Trip to Manchester
Thirty ENP students in Seconde and Première enjoyed a trip to Manchester over the weekend of 10th to 12th October to see a performance of Dancing at Lughnasa, one of their BFI written exam texts. Before the performance, they visited the Open Day at the University of Manchester to listen to talks about different subjects; on Sunday the group visited the Imperial War Museum North to learn about the experiences of those who lived through wars in the twentieth century. Students also had time to visit Manchester City Centre. The trip took an unexpected turn on Sunday evening when the return flight was cancelled, meaning a late-night coach trip from Manchester to Gatwick; after a short nap in a hotel, the group headed to the airport and eventually got back to Geneva in time for lunch on Monday.
Despite the travel complication, the students maintained their good humour and excellent behaviour and made it a fantastic weekend, if a little longer than planned!
