2 hours per week in Premiere and Terminale

• Students devise and undertake an independent research project, on a subject of their choice, developed from one of three broad areas “paths of reflection”, on a UK related topic.

1. a) Thinking about society

• Understanding how societies structure and evolve
• Understanding the functioning of the State, analysing the life of institutions
• To develop and express thoughts and opinions, to comment on developments in society

1. b) Living in the world

• Sharing spaces
• Moving around
• Cultural and linguistic diversity

1. c) Building a common future

• Protect, conserve, improve
• Seeking ways to achieve sustainable development
• Innovate, create, evolve

Students are assessed when they present their project in a 20 minute oral in the summer Term of their Terminale year.
