Foreign Language Examinations
Students in 3ème have the opportunity to sit the French IGCSE, a British public exam. Although no specific teaching is provided for this exam, pupils who have sat an equivalent exam (the French ‘O’ Level) in previous years have achieved excellent grades. Last year, over 94% of 3ème pupils who sat the French ‘O’ Level achieved an ‘A’ grade.
Sitting the IGCSE can give pupils valuable examination practice in preparation for the GCSEs they will sit in Seconde, as well as the opportunity to gain a good grade in this foreign language exam.
Students in 2nde have the opportunity to sit Spanish or German IGCSEs.
