A NOTE ON ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR DEGREE COURSES IN BRITAIN.
During your researches you will see A level requirements for individual courses. These requirements can be expressed both as subject specialisms and as achievement levels in terms of grades.
Often you will see the grade requirement expressed as a number. This number is worked out in the following way.
Most students take three or four A levels in England. The score for each A level is worked out in the following ways:
A: 120 POINTS
B: 100 POINTS
C: 80 POINTS
D: 60 POINTS
E: 40 POINTS
Thus if the entry requirement asks for 340 points it is asking for two A’s and a B at A level. Students can then refer to the Baccalaureat/A level equivalence document.
