Five of the above teachers work within the Programme’s secondary section as well, and thus help ensure primary-secondary continuity.
Teachers meet regularly to plan the curriculum and co-ordinate progression between classes. This team planning of the curriculum and of lessons is one distinctive aspect of the Programme's work. Teachers keep up to date with developments in UK education via training of various types, including time spent in visits to UK primary schools.
The Head of Programme, Peter Woodburn has overall responsibility for primary and secondary sections. He deals with official communication with families, admissions, organisation and staffing of primary classes, and with all matters concerning safety and discipline. Email address: hop@enpferney.org .
Ann Moriarty is in charge of the primary English curriculum and pedagogical co-ordination of the primary teaching team. Email address: primary@enpferney.org .
Lucy Howen, the Programme secretary, is responsible for administration, including communications with parents, maintaining and updating the Programme’s database, and dealing with day-to day enquiries. A member of the ALA-ELP parents’ association committee is designated as having special responsibility for the primary section.
